Do Detox Trends Actually Work?

Chlorophyll Water & Other Social Media Detox Trends
Hello Reader,
Every time I scroll social media, there’s a new detox trend—chlorophyll water, parasite cleanses, celery juice at sunrise. They’re hyped as “miracle” fixes, but do they really help your body detox?
Here’s the truth: your body detoxes every single day through your liver, kidneys, gut, and skin. You don’t need expensive fads to make it happen, but you can support these natural pathways with the right foods and daily habits.
👉 Here’s a quick breakdown:
Chlorophyll Water – Antioxidant-rich, but not a magic detoxer. Eat dark leafy greens (or a quality greens powder) instead of splurging on pricey bottled chlorophyll water.
Parasite Cleanses – Overhyped for most people. Gut imbalances are way more common than parasites. Focus on probiotics, fiber, and gentle gut herbs first.
Celery Juice – Hydrating and antioxidant-rich, but not a cure-all. Plain lemon water (or just filtered water!) will do the job just as well.
✨ What actually works?
Real detox support looks like:
Eating fiber (chia, flax, cruciferous veggies)
Supporting your liver with gentle herbs like milk thistle & dandelion root
Staying hydrated with minerals and electrolytes
Moving your body & sweating regularly
Prioritizing gut health with probiotics + stress management
Your body already knows how to detox. Your job is to give it the right tools.

My book Why You're Still Bloated Even on a "Clean" Dietis a great first step in understanding what is going on with your digestion before diving into 1-on-1 care with me.
With this book, you'll be equipped with actionable steps you can take now for better digestion and a list of tests you can discuss with your doctor to get to the root causes of your symptoms.
Switching to a healthier lifestyle doesn’t mean you have to overhaul everything at once; it’s all about small swaps that really add up. These are the exact products I use daily (and recommend to my patients) to support balanced hormones, glowing skin, and a low-tox home.

Is your skin freaking out this fall? Let’s fix that Hello Reader, If your skin’s been feeling tight, dry, or just off lately, you’re not imagining it. Fall is when I start hearing the same story from so many of my patients: “I didn’t change anything, but my skin feels so much drier all of a sudden!” The truth is, this season brings subtle environmental shifts: cooler air, lower humidity, more heater time. All of these quietly pull moisture right out of your skin. But it’s not just about...
